School's Message

Let's Go TIGERS!

Welcome to Franklin D. Roosevelt Middle School – home of the Tigers.  FDR Middle School is located on Veterans Highway in Bristol, PA.  We have a dedicated and caring staff who strive to provide our community with the best education possible.

We have many exciting things happening this year at FDR.  Our school community is in the fourth year of our partnership with the Digital Promise and Verizon Foundation which provides all 7th and 8th grade students and teachers with a iPad Air 2.  In addition to the iPad donation, Verizon is graciously donating 5 gig data plans to every student to eliminate the Digital Divide, allowing our students to have unlimited internet access outside of school.  We have a team of students and teachers that are constantly documenting the 1:1 tablet implementation and sharing the information for all districts across the country to use as a road map to implement 1:1 technology.

Thank you to the Digital Promise Foundation, Verizon Foundation and Samsung!

Please don't hesitate to contact our front office at 267-599-2300 if you have any questions.

This school year the principal graciously let Ms. Missanelli put aside her traditional English Curriculum in favor of Challenge Based Learning, which is a learning theory that encourages collaboration, authentic written communication, and community-based service.

We proposed that our project center around the FDR parking lot which serves as a cut through for the neighborhood adjacent to our school. We contacted local businesses, conducted traffic studies, set speed traps, designed gates, and managed to have a swing gate donated and installed all in 9 months. This was the most productive and fulfilling project her students have ever done. This project sure beats a diorama any day.  Also, our test scores each went up 20%. A very special thanks to Area Enclosures for the donation of their equipment and time.

Sincerely, The CBL Crew

Important iPad Information

This year all FDR students will be receiving an iPad Air 2, courtesy of a grant from Digital Promise and the Verizon Foundation. Each iPad Air 2 comes with 5g of data each month. FDR students will have the ability to access information, even when they are not connected to wifi. There are important dates, forms, and documents to be reviewed and completed in order for your child to receive their iPad Air 2.
